Where were you?

While most of you were sleeping last night, I had the great fortune of seeing a lightning storm on the lake. Although I'm still trying to get used to the aperture and speed settings, I was successful in getting in a couple of shots. It was a beautiful storm and I was glad to be able to be a part of it. What's even better, is if another one comes along, I'll be able to practice again.

Matt and I were able to visit with some dear friends that I, personally, have not seen in a long time. My long time friend, Julie came into town and we celebrated her brother, Glenn's birthday (who is also a long-time friend). I won't tell you how old Glenn is, but it was a BIG birthday for him. I love catching up with people whom I haven't seen in a long time. Time goes by so fast, however, and then it's another 5 years before you can reunite. I hope that doesn't happen again.

Thank you both for coming and for the nice card and gift! The party was truly a surprise. I am sure that Amy will include more info on the evening in her blog.

I tried to get similar pictures last night but must have had the wrong setting on the camera. You got some good shots.

it makes me miss the Ohio thunderstorms even more! We don't get anything like that here in Sunny California.

Your lightning photos are so stunning! You really did well capturing that lightning! It was so good to see you. I will try to be better about seeing you when I come to town. You could always come here to visit--I love visitors:).
